Tata, Reliance, Uninor, Mittal among biggest beneficiaries of telecom scam

"It takes two to tango and the CAG audit report makes it clear that while Raja was instrumental in the execution of the scam it is these corporate entities that were the prime beneficiaries of the underpriced licenses. They must share blame and the opprobrium that is being heaped on Raja should also be borne by them.

The CAG has quantified the scam and the unrealised revenues to the government of India at over Rs. 1,70,000 crore. If there has been such a huge loss to the public exchequer, the obvious question that arises is who has gained.

The obvious answer is the real beneficiaries of the low prices charged for the license are the clutch of firms named in the CAG report. "
