Cycle Rally to demand Cycling Friendly Pune
Lokayat is organising a cycle rally tomorrow, on Sunday morning, to focus attention on the fact that the Pune city, which was once famous for being a city of cycles, has now become clogged with private vehicles and so has become very dangerous for cycling. This is also resulting in increased pollution and accidents. The aim of the rally is to demand more facilities for cyclists, especially cycling tracks on all major roads so that people can be encouraged to cycle at least for short distances.
Date: Sunday, February 7, 2010
Time: 10 am – 11.30 am
Route: From Deccan Gymkhana bus stand to Fergusson College Road to Sancheti Hospital to Dagdu Sheth Ganpati to Laxmi Road and then back to Deccan Gymkhana Bus Stand.
Kindly send a reporter and photographer to cover the rally.
